Hampton Club Notes Round 12

The Colts kept their finals chances alive by forging a win over Chelsea Heights at home last Saturday. After a solid first half the boys found themselves 28 points up and in control. With Josh Burbidge on fire, we extended the lead in the second half running out 42 point victors. Al Matthews’ two goals were important, as was the contributions of Lewis & Burbidge who played well all day.

The Reserves faced up to Dandenong having finally been forced to prove that they are the team they keep saying they are. Sadly, they failed to do so, comprehensively beaten y 39 points. In addition, the team fell victim to “the results fairy” that magically swooped in and stole the results, meaning we cannot tell you who kicked the goals and played well. There can be plenty of excuses for results like this, but only one reason; lack of training. Good luck today boys...

The Seniors started slowly, perhaps due in part to the theme set by the twos, but luckily they snapped out of it after finding themselves four points down at half time. A five goal third term boosted us back into a lead of 20 points at the final change, then powering home to win by 45. Fletcher & Grove did the business booting six between them, whilst Evans, Dragon & Fletch took control all over the ground to ensure the win.

Bad taste night was a ripping success last Saturday, where some of the cocktails produced much more than just bad taste! Well done to Nicole for producing another fantastic night.

Today sees us hosting the Dragons in game where we can prove that what happened earlier this season will not happen again.

Don’t forget the $5000 draw, coming up on Sunday August 8th. For tickets see Ian Nichol.
