GROUND UPDATE FROM BAYSIDE CITY COUNCIL
November 27th, 2009
source:

The oval has been recently mown and fertilised. The weeds were starting to die as a result of the recent herbicide application. The couch however, was showing no signs of phytotoxicity from the herbicide application and continued to grow vigorously and was close to completely covering the surface. At this stage it is uncertain whether the one application of Spearhead will completely control all broadleaf weeds. This will become more apparent over the next couple of weeks. There was concern that the weed population may affect the couch coverage close to the cricket pitch. However, close examination suggested that any weak areas would quickly fill in from the couch already present
